Current Music: While You Were Out Theme Music
Well, 26 and moved home once again. How many times is that now? Mike and I moved out of our sweet little house on the ocean so that he could chase an adventure in Africa. Hope he likes it there cause I am living with my parents for this! Ahh, whatever. My parents are great and they aren't charging me any money...which let me tell you is awesome. I can actually save some cash and get the frig out of Stephenville. Which by the way, if you have been living in a hole...flooded last week. Crazy shit man! Hmmm...what else is new...OH MAN!! I saw Pearl jam last weekend in St.John's which definitly completed my life. I could seriously kick it right now and I would be okay with that. Ahh Pearl Jam....how you complete me.

Yes, sick again. I have decided to give up on my every failing immune system. In fact, I am starting to believe I may not have one at all. It may be that or that I just finished the most stressfull and painfull job ever. I finished work as the costume designer of 6 productions. The amount of costumes was insane, especially because there are 21 people in the cast this year!! I am so incredibly happy to be away from the politics and crappy, stressed out, moody people backstage. I think I was a week away from having a nervous breakdown. That said, it got finished and pretty well if I do say so myself.
The last couple of weeks have been lovely. Chris Todd surprised me and was home for a week, Jodie was home for 5 days and extended it to 10, and Cheryl is home for a few weeks. So friends all over the place and that makes me incredibly happy. So who's next? You? Sweet! See you then!

Current Music: It's a Fine Life - from Oliver
So here I am...Oliver has ended and now I am at the part where I am not sure what to do with myself. It ate up so much of my time and energy and now it's gone. It was so much fun and I definitly have to do it again at some point. But nevertheless, I will go back to where I belong...costumes...
I have a few job prospects for the summer. One keeps me here, and the others takes me away...St.John's I think. So the details are piling in and I have some decisions to make. I just realized that over the past year I have been working in theatre (and tv) straight through, give or take a month. It seems that there are more opportunities in NL than I thought...or was led to believe.
Oh and happy birthday to my Daddy!!

Well..Oliver opened last night and went really well! So much work paid off. There are over 70 people in it so it was quite a huge cast. But everyone had so much fun and blew me away...especially all the kids. Half of them have never done anything like this before and came such a long way. I had a great night! Two more to go and then it is over. It is hard to believe that you put so much time and work into show and then only show it three times. Ahh well...tis theatre. I am having a great experience doing the acting thing. I have definitly surprised myself and also learned another level of respect for actors from a designers view. But they still better shut it and put on the costume! Moohoohahah!
And on another lovely note...Mike comes home tonight!! So excited. It was nice to have the house to myself for a while...then that got old and I miss him!! So yey!!

Current Music: Nothing!!
Well, Oliver is just around the corner and I feel like barfing when I think about it. It seems like it needs another few weeks of rehearsal yet. But as they say, the show must go on. I am excited about it though.
Been pretty bored the last couple of days. Mike is gone to the Ukraine for two weeks and Stephenville is pretty boring without him here! It is really odd when you are so used to life a cerain way and then it changes. I miss him!! Ahh, suck it up Cook!
My wonderful friends threw me a surprise party for my birthday before Mike left. My birthday isn't until may 11th but it was soooo sweet cause they did it beacuse Mike will be gone for my birthday!!! AH FRIENDS!!

I just got of rehearsal...and boy am I pooped. That acting stuff is tiring. Especially when you play a girl who is beaten to the ground by her loving boyfriend. And even more especially when you rehearse that scene a lot. Need a nap...

Current Music: Food Glorious Food!
I need food! I slept in this morning and was late for work, therefore causing me to miss the most important meal of the day. Now my stomach is eating my back. Saw Fat Albert last night...fell asleep during Fat Albert last night. Not so good. But if you do watch it...look for the tall guy with the fro in the yellow jacket...hilarious!!
My Dad is coming home from Nova Scotia tonight bearing a lovely new couch for me! My sis bought a new couch and she is sending me her "old" one. I use the term "old" loosely...pretty much brand new. Score for me! How much more randomness can one put in a journal...
Marble is closing next week, so I am pretty bummed about that. But the second it closes, the snow better all melt away. Cause me and the snow will be done then. We are breaking up...that's right!! The crappy thing is that the conditions have been pretty bad all winter, and now that they are getting to be wonderful spring conditions...the hill is closing. C'est la vie!

Current Music: Don't Mean A Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing
Certainly have been kept extremely busy the last week and it doesn't seem to be letting up. Other than regular work and rehearsals, I have been doing quite a lot of freelancing around the greater Stephenville area (bahahah...greater Stephenville...). Who knew costumes were in such high demand at this time of year in such a small place. But nevertheless, my name caught a breeze and my phone has been ringing off the hook. And...my beautiful sister is home! First time I have seen her for almost a year, so that is super!!

So, I thought I was figuring out how to post pics, but it didn't work. I broke everyones computers! So, that's that. I am going to sit down with it some day when I have the patience and work on it...but that isn't today.
So not much has happened in my island life. Oh yes...except that I am now an actor. That's right...bye bye costumes..hello stage. BAHAH!! Not even. But I did get the lead role in a Stephenville Festival production of "Oliver". You can now call me Nancy. It should be interesting...quite a difference from my usual backstage. I am pretty excited about the whole thing because it has been quite some time since I acted. I think that last time was in "Hair", about five years ago. So if any of youse is around...it will be shown May 13-16 (I think).

So today...I cut some bangs. Yes my friends...I cut bangs. It was a huge attempt at making some new change in my appearance because I have looked the same for sooooooo long. I kinda like em. They cover up my ten mile long forehead. What do people with bangs do? They probably do Pilates and eat tacos...okay...now I am just getting ridiculous.
Lets see...I went snowboarding at Marble on sunday with Mike and Mike. We had an amazing day. It was a bit chilly, but nothing my down filled jacket wasn't ready for. They worked me pretty hard, but I didn't have a problem keeping up with them. I think that is pretty good for someone who has only been snowboarding for three years versus two guys that have been snowboarding for ten years.
I have some hilarious pics of the girls and I at Jodie's house. It is seriously funny when you take pics in the dark. I am going to post them the next chance I get.
I am off to look in the mirror so I can get used to the chunk of hair in my face! I swear...I won't be obsessing about this tomorrow.
Love!

Well, on a scale from one to ten...i am a twelve! Good mood! Figured out some fun stuff with my computer, learned how to play a Black Crowes song on piano, and just finished eating a yummy sub!! Going to Jodie's house with my girls tonight to have a Survivor party and take out. Sounds fun to me! I will take pictures of us...maybe we should costume it up? Nope...too much work for my lazy arse. Cheers folkies!! Love!

Just had to express my utter sadness that I am finished watching Sex and the City. It was a fun ride, now I am not sure what to do with myself. I watched 6 years worth in two months...whew. Actually I am glad it is over...now maybe I can socialize again. Bar hoppin here I come!! Woop woop!!

Current Music: The Banana Boat Song
Well, I am honestly not very good at the following:
-Keeping in touch
-saving money
-making shortbread cookies
-peeling myself away from Sex and the City
-and updating this freakin journal!!
So...here is my ill fated attempt at updating my pals on the misadventures of Kylie Cook. I am currently battling the plague of 2005! And the plague seems to be winning. Besides that, I have been snowboarding every possible free moment, except of course the last few days which have included a struggle to move from my bed to the couch. The only other motion I make is to switch my lovely friend Jodie's Sex and the City DVD's when I finish a season. I don't have cable, but I sure have a sick obsession with the lovely ladies from Manhattan. Other then my couch surfing, my time consists of making lots of clothes, finally!! I got off my lazy arse and started designing and creating again. So yey for that. I am also doing some free lance work around town for some people. So all in all, this has been a great and productive winter! Well, that's all I've got...I will post some fun pictures when I learn how to do it...
Love for all!

Current Music: What are you doing New Years Eve
So, it's that time of year again when everyone comes home and bombards you with the same questions over and over...what are you doing now? Where are you? Blah blah...It is really funny to talk to someone who you kind of know and have them look so incredibly disinterested in what you are saying. While you are updating them with the last couple years of your life, they are looking around the bar wondering how they can get away from you to go ask the same question to that guy they kind of know. It's silly. I am not complaining, I love all the comfortable familiar faces around...I just think it is funny.
So Karen and Diana Lockyear, Cheryl McIsaac and her boyfriend Steven (sorry, don't know his last name) and I went to Clancy's last night and it was fun. We sat around and drank some Jack Daniels (no wait, that was just me) and had some serious good times! After my eyes started burning out of my face due to the smoke, I drove Diana and Karen to Port au POrt and slowly drove and listened to Muse's new album on my way home. (and for all you that are shaking their heads because you think I drank then drove...I only had one drink over a four hour period. SO you can stop shaking your head or you may give yourself whiplash). So these are my departing words for today...
Go out and enjoy your holiday and think of something really interesting to say to those people who really don't want to talk to you...

So, this is it. I have decided to put my brain on the internet for all to pick apart. And I have Cheryl to blame cause she gave me the idea. A live journal.....what do you actually say on these things that will interest anyone. Cause honestly, I am not that interesting. Nothing profound really ever comes out of me. So I will talk about my day....
I am working...
That's it.
ooooh, I went snowboarding for the first time this season on saturday! That made me very happy and now I can't wait to get on the hill!! I bought new bindings this summer (yah I know...a little early) and they kicked ass!
Until i figure out more about these things, I will leave you with a crappy first entry. I swear I will get more interesting!!
